The Justice Department’s investigation of the Capitol attack, already the largest it has ever conducted, has resulted in 900 arrests, with the potential for scores or hundreds more to come.
“I think you were caught up in a moment,” a federal judge said as he sentenced Thomas Webster, an ex-Marine who once served on the protective detail of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.
Thomas Webster was found guilty in federal court after assaulting a Washington, D.C., police officer with a metal flagpole during the riot at the Capitol last year.
