Attorney General Ken Paxton’s accusation against the House speaker came as the House investigated Mr. Paxton’s request for $3.3 million to settle a suit accusing him of corruption.
The women, backed by an abortion-rights group, say they were denied abortions under state law despite risks to themselves and their fetuses that made the procedure a medical necessity.
The multimillion-dollar settlement will come from state funds and be paid to top deputies who had accused the attorney general, Ken Paxton, of corruption.
