The Washington Monument

The Washington Monument is located on Washington, DC’s National Mall.  The Washington Monument is an instantly-recognizable Washington, DC landmark. Towering above the rest of the city, the 555-foot, 5.5″ monument was the world’s tallest building when it was completed in 1884. Built to reflect the nation’s awe of its first president, and an engineering marvel for any age, the building still captures the imagination.
